Susan spends five to six months traveling the world from the Arctic to the Amazon to the Antartic as a naturalist and expedition leader. Listing just a few of her experiences would include: journeys into the rainforest, exploring Amazonas, watching polar bears north of the Arctic circle and of course penguins and whales in Antarctica. She has led groups as diverse as National Geographic and National Audubon Societies, National Wildlife Federation and The Smithsonian.
For more than twenty years she has worked with teachers and students sharing her love of the natural world to enhance their environmental understanding. Each year she visits an average of fifty schools with her message of environmental caring.

Susan's efforts have gained her signifigant recognition from institutions and individuals:

  • Conservation Educator of the Year in New York State 1987
  • Conservation Alumni of the Year 1988
  • Who's Who of American Women 1989
  • Graduate of Cornell University.
